Decadent Ham Glaze Recipe

Decadent Ham Glaze Recipe

First a caution that the old fashioned ham glaze recipes do not create the crunchy glaze topping that we associate with ham glaze today. This ham glaze recipe will create a nice flavor that is reminiscent of Sunday ham at grandmas. And next time if you want to make your event a little easier, try ordering a pre-glazed ham online that will arrive right at your door ready to thaw and serve. (...just a thought!)

Decadent Ham Glaze Recipe
Ingredients:
2 T. Grand Marnier liqueur
1/4 cup crushed pecans
1/2 cup brown sugar (I prefer the crystaly kind)
1/2 t. ground allspice
1 t. dry mustard

Combine all ingredients except pecans. Remove ham from oven about a half hour before your baking is complete (when meat thermometer is about 130 degrees - fully cooked is 140 for fully cooked hams). Spoon the glaze on and spread over the ham. Place pecans on top of glaze. Place ham back in oven and complete cooking. If glaze or pecans start to become too brown, put a foil tent over and complete cooking.
